Prestonsburg, KY — A Prestonsburg man is in jail after pointing guns at sheriff deputies. According to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, while Sheriff John Hunt and deputies were conducting a drug investigation on Dotson Branch when 44-year-old Donny Bentley, who was armed with two handguns, pointed a gun at deputies while attempting to flee. Bentley was apprehended and has been charged with possession of controlled substance, crystal meth, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of or receiving stolen property, wanton endangerment on a police officer, possession of synthetic drug, fleeing or evading police, possession of marijuana, possession of controlled substance, hydrocodone along with several outstanding indictment charges. Bentley was lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
