Man Hides In Bedroom From Police

Pikeville, KY — A possible domestic in progress complaint results in a Pike County man behind bars. According to the arrest citation, Pikeville Police responded to the complaint and as officers approached the residence, they heard two people yelling at each other. Officers saw 29-year-old Stefan Micah Ward look out a window and fled into a back bedroom. Ward exited the apartment through the back door then reentered the apartment after seeing officer. Police say Ward fled to a bedroom attempting to hide under pillows. Officers state Ward was making strange noises and was sweating profusely and attempted to pull away from them as they tried to handcuff him causing damage to a wall and falling into a table. After officers had Ward in custody, Ward admitted to taking ecstasy. Further investigation showed no physical altercation had occurred during the domestic. Ward was taken to Pikeville Medical Center for medical clearance and then lodged in the Pike County Detention Center and charged with Public intoxication of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and fleeing or evading police.
