Two Floyd County middle school students are now facing felony charges after bringing knives to John M. Stumbo Elementary School last week. Sgt. Kevin Shepherd with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office is the School Resource Officer, and says he and school personnel took action Tuesday morning, as soon as they were made aware of a possible situation at school. Two female students in 8th grade, both 13 years old, were charged with bringing a weapon onto school property, a Class D felony. One of the students is also facing an additional charge of terroristic threatening.
