Power Up The Pantry Campaign

Ashland, KY — Kentucky Power is teaming up with area businesses, community colleges and local governments to Power up the Pantry and replenish depleted area food pantries. Friday, April 5th, there will be a dual daylong event in Hazard and in Prestonsburg. Kentucky Power has partnered with Anthem Medicaid, Appalachian regional Healthcare, the City of Hazard, the City of Prestonsburg, Big Sandy Community and Technical College, Hazard Community and Technical College, God’s Pantry Food Bank and others. Donations in Prestonsburg will go to God’s Pantry, which operates distribution centers in Prestonsburg and London that serves hundreds of food pantries in eastern Kentucky. Hazard donations will go to New Hope Church Emergency Food Pantry. Collections will be taken from 6 am t 6 pm at the ARH Medical Mall parking lot on Black Gold Boulevard in Hazard and at the Big Sandy Community and Technical College’s parking lot near the Science Center at Bert Combs Drive in Prestonsburg.
