A traffic stop leads to a drug arrest in Martin County

IMG_1474BLACKLOG, Ky. — It happened when Martin County Sheriff John Kirk stopped a red Chevy truck on KY 40 in Blacklog for having no tail lights. Deputy Billy Patrick and his K-9, Grimm Reaper were on scene and were given consent to search the vehicle. As a result marijuana, a substance believed to be meth, three syringes, a set of scales, a burnt light bulb, several small bags and other narcotics were found.

The driver of the vehicle, 50-year old David Ferguson of Blaine was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana, 2-counts of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
