Pikeville was dominate from the opening round through the championship game as the Lady Panthers three-peat as Queens of 15^th Region All “A” Classic with an 84-35 win over Shelby Valley at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Tuesday night.

The Lady Panthers improved to 12-1 and move on to the state tournament later this month in Corbin.

Trinity Rowe led three players in double-figure scoring with 23 points and 10 assists. Kyera Thornsbury followed with 19 points and nine rebounds. Rylie Theiss tossed in 10.

Sadie Johnson scored 14 in the loss for the Lady Kats, now 10-3.

Martin County run out to a big first-quarter lead and cruised to a 74-44 win over East Ridge in the opening round of the boys’ 15^th Region All “a” Classic Tournament played at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Tuesday night.

Luke Hale and Brayden McKenzie shared game-high scoring honors with 21 points each. 

Jacob Sturgill tallied 11 and Peyton Davis added 10 as the Cardinals (80-7) advanced to the semifinals.

Jackson Keene paced the Warriors, now 4-6, with 14 points. Dunner Ward chipped in nine.

Paintsville senior Emilea Preece fired in a game-high 25 points and went over 2,000 points for her career as the Lady Tigers defeated Floyd Central, 71-39, in a game played on Wednesday night.

The Lady Tigers, now 8-6, outscored the Lady Jaguars (4-10) 24-5 over the final eight minutes.

Kylie Kinner and Karah Lafferty tossed in 13 points each.

Riley Jo Compton scored 14 in the loss.

East Ridge held on down the stretch to beat Cornerstone Christian (TN), 46-41, in the Hoopalachia Hardwood Classic played at Twin Valley (VA) on Friday night.

The Lady Warriors, who hit just 15 of 37 free throws, improved to 2-0.

Kourtlee Keene led the way with 17 points. Makenzie Sawyers finished with 13 and Breonna Tackett tossed in 11.

East Ridge pulled away from Knott Central in the third quarter and went on to earn a 56-35 win at Citizens Bank Field on Friday night.

The Warriors wrapped up the regular season at 5-5. East Ridge opens Class 2A post-season action at Floyd Central (5-5) on Friday. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.

All-purpose back Isaiah Adkins ran for a career-best 363 yards and seven touchdowns o. 24 rushing attempts.

Brayden Stewart added a rushing score. Hayden Perkins finished with 114 yards on the ground, rushing 14 times.

Knott Central (2-8) plays at Shelby Valley (7-3) on Thursday night. Game time from Hobart Clay Johnson Field is 7:30 pm.

Shelby Valley quarterback Russ Osborne passed for six touchdowns to lead the Wildcats to a 58-30 win over East Ridge in a game played on the Reservation on Thursday night.

Osborne completed 17-of-21 passes for 350 yards – five of his scoring plays went to receiver Brady Bentley. He caught nine passes for 230 yards.

Jonah Bartley added a touchdown catch as the Wildcats won their third straight game and improved to 6-3.

Running back Clark raft rushed for 127 yards and a score on seven carries.

East Ridge running back Isaiah Adkins carried 27 times for 284 yards and five touchdowns in the loss. Hayden Perkins finished with 49 yards on 14 rushing attempts.

Both teams will close out the regular season on Friday as the Wildcats visit Floyd Central (5-4) while the Warriors visit Knott Central (2-7). Games are set for 7L30 pm.
