PIKEVILLE, Ky. — We’re getting a clearer picture of the allegations against two Pike County residents who were arrested last week.

Malinda Mounts, 44, and her boyfriend, Josh Allen, 26, both of Deadening Fork Road at Robinson Creek, were arrested Jan. 30. Each was charged with two counts of meth trafficking, but court records gave no details about the allegations.

Now, Mounts has also been charged in federal court, where she is described as a major drug dealer.

Authorities accuse Mounts of selling pounds of meth and fentanyl from her home, with Allen assisting her and acting as her security. After several undercover buys, police obtained a search warrant for her home, but she and Allen were arrested in a traffic stop before the warrant could be executed.

After her arrest, Mounts allegedly admitted to having three sources for meth and fentanyl in Salyersville, London and Memphis, saying she would buy as much as 5 lbs. of meth and 5 oz. of fentanyl at a time.

Mounts now faces a federal charge of conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of meth. There is currently no record of any federal charges against Allen, although federal authorities have placed a hold on him with the Pike County Detention Center.
