SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — A Magoffin County man is in jail on an assault charge, after allegedly shooting another person in the face.
Michael Paul Perkins, 41, of Salyersville, was arrested Sunday afternoon.
Police say he and Bobby Stephens were in an argument, when Perkins allegedly shot Stephens.
The victim was taken to Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, then flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Perkins is now charged with first-degree assault, a Class B felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. He is being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.
