The City of Pikeville has closed its playground equipment.
In a notice posted to social media Thursday, the city announced that it has closed its playground equipment as a safety precaution during the COVID-19 crisis. The playground equipment will be closed until Kentucky’s state of emergency is lifted.
The city says its parks, including fields, tennis courts, walking track, multi-use trail and other features and amenities, remain open for use.
The City of Prestonsburg took similar action earlier on Thursday.
