PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky State Park system is looking for someone to take over the marina at Paintsville Lake.
The park system is accepting bids from private developers and operators to either replace or upgrade the current marina, which currently offers 56 open slips, 116 covered slips, a restaurant, boat rentals, and fishing and boating supplies.
The successful bidder will enter into a sublease agreement for a portion of the lake and shoreline. The new marina operator will be required, at a minimum, to provide an equal number of slips and services. The park service will also require improvements to the marina store, fueling area, storage areas and electrical infrastructure.
Bids are being accepted until Dec. 10.
