PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — A Pike County man is in jail, after police found him with a variety of drugs during a traffic stop.

A Prestonsburg Police officer pulled over a car on U.S. 23 in Prestonsburg. While talking to the driver, the officer noticed his passenger was visibly shaking and avoiding eye contact.

The officer soon learned the passenger, identified as Christopher Justice, 46, of Jonancy, was wanted on two bench warrants, and he was placed under arrest.

The officer then got permission to search the car, resulting in the discovery of a large bag of meth in the glove compartment. He also found a pill bottle with a woman’s name on it that contained meth, marijuana and several types of pills.

Justice allegedly admitted to the officer that all of the drugs were his. He was then charged with meth trafficking and five counts of possession, on top of the active warrants.

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County woman now plans to plead guilty in her federal drug case, after reaching a deal with prosecutors.

Sasha Adkins-Sword, 36, of Jonancy, is currently charged possession of meth and fentanyl with the intent to distribute and felon in possession of a firearm.

Court records allege she was found with a pound of meth and an undisclosed amount of fentanyl when she was arrested last June. Police also seized nine handguns and three shotguns during the raid.

Court records do not specify the terms of her plea agreement.

A judge has scheduled a hearing Friday for her to enter her plea.

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County woman has been arrested after she was indicted on federal drug and gun charges last month.

Sasha Adkins, also known as Sasha Sword, 36, of Jonancy, was arrested Thursday afternoon. She was charged with one count of possession of fentanyl and more than 50 grams of meth with the intent to distribute. She was also charged with felon in possession of a firearm, after police found her with nine handguns and three shotguns.

If convicted, she faces at least five years and up to 40 years in prison.

She is currently being held without bond in the Pike County Detention Center.

JONANCY, Ky. — Kentucky State Police is investigating after a man’s body was found in Pike County Sunday evening.

The body of Nathan Worrix, 37, of Robinson Creek, was found in a stream along Route 610, just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The cause of death is under investigation. Worrix’s body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

JONANCY, Ky. — A report of stolen telephone cable resulted in the arrest of a Pike County man on Friday.

AT&T contacted Kentucky State Police to report the theft of about 600 feet of cable from poles in Jonancy. While patrolling the area later, a state trooper spotted wires stripped of their insulation around a camper on Jonancy Lane.

The occupant of the camper, identified as Steven Musick, 46, was not there when police arrived, but he was found a short time later.

Musick reportedly told police that he lived in the camper, but denied stealing any telephone cable. However, his girlfriend told police he had told her he found a way to make extra money, but wouldn’t say how.

Musick was arrested and charged with theft, criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools.

ELKHORN CITY, Ky. — A Pike County sex offender has been arrested on a charge of not keeping authorities informed of his current address.

Timothy Wayne Prichard, 50, was pulled over in a traffic stop Tuesday night in Elkhorn City. While running his information, the officer noticed the Elkhorn City address on his license did not match the Jonancy address listed with the sex offender registry.

Prichard reportedly admitted to the officer that he had been staying in Elkhorn City “off and on” for several weeks.

He was arrested on a charge of failure to comply with sex offender registration for not updating his address.

According to the registry, Prichard was convicted of rape in Ohio.
