					<description><![CDATA[<p>PIKEVILLE, Ky. &#8211;  On Tuesday morning, the annual Police Appreciation Ceremony was held at the East Kentucky Expo Center in Pikeville.  Members of the community gathered to support the various law enforcement agencies whose officers work to protect Pike County, and remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.  Pikeville Elementary School 4th grade students are encouraged to participate in an essay contest to show their appreciation for the officers who walk their halls every day.  Pikeville Police Chief Chris Edmonds read the winning essays during the ceremony.  One of those is featured in the video below.
