The time has come for the season to come to a close, and for the final time (for now), the Championship 4 heads out west to Phoenix Raceway. The final round of the Craftsman Truck Series season will take the green flag at 7:30 p.m. ET this Friday night. Let’s jump right in and preview the four drivers who will be fighting for the title under the desert lights.

Corey Heim

The clear favorite in the field — and with good reason. Heim has 11 wins this season through 24 races and has finished outside the top five only six times all year. Last season, he ended with six wins but came up just short of the title, finishing runner-up at Phoenix.

Can Corey Heim finally cap off his dominant season with a championship? Most think it’s nearly a lock — but in NASCAR, you never know what might happen when the green flag drops.

Kaden Honeycutt

Perhaps the most interesting path to the Championship 4 belongs to Kaden Honeycutt. He enters the finale driving the No. 52 — a truck piloted by Stewart Friesen for much of the season. Honeycutt took over midyear after parting ways with Niece Motorsports and signing with Toyota for 2026.

After Friesen suffered injuries in a dirt racing crash, Honeycutt stepped in and has been quietly consistent ever since. Though he hasn’t reached victory lane yet, he’s been strong enough to make the Championship 4. It wasn’t long ago that Daniel Hemric scored his first career win in an Xfinity championship race — could Honeycutt pull off a similar storybook ending? We’ll find out Friday night.

Tyler Ankrum

Consistency has been the key to Tyler Ankrum’s 2025 campaign, and now he finds himself in his first-ever Championship 4 appearance. His lone win came earlier this season at Rockingham, but he’s excelled on short tracks — something that could play in his favor at Phoenix.

As the only Chevrolet driver in the Championship 4, Ankrum might benefit from some manufacturer teamwork on Friday. The challenge will be steep, but he’s proven he can hang with the best.

Ty Majeski

The defending 2024 Truck Series Champion, Ty Majeski returns to Phoenix hoping to fend off Corey Heim for a second straight year. It won’t be easy — Heim has dominated the season — but Majeski’s late-year surge gives him a fighting chance.

Although he hasn’t won a race this year, Majeski has nine top fives, most of them coming in the back half of the season. Could he be peaking at just the right time? Last year, Majeski captured the win at Phoenix to clinch the championship. Can he repeat the feat and slow down Heim? Only time will tell.

Throughout the week, we’ll preview all three series’ championship races — and I’ve invited a few of my colleagues and local racing fans to share their title picks. One of us is bound to go 3-for-3!
