Jones has been elected as State Senator for the 31st District for 17 years. He says, now that he has a family and his children are older, he would like to focus more on the county as a whole. He says at this point his children would not be able to stay here and make a living and that&#8217;s discouraging. Jones says Pike County is the hub of eastern Kentucky with the best medical care, banking and education. Jones adds, Pike County has a bright future but the county government needs to work towards job creation and with his background he feels he would be able to bring jobs to the county.</p>
