COAL RUN, KY.–A wreck on U.S. 119 snarled traffic this evening. Shortly after 6, Coal Run Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call of a 3-vehicle crash, involving a logging truck, at the mouth of Adams road at the entrance of Christ Central Academy
“We were the second vehicle back and as the car was coming down, he lost control and went left, right, left, right and then slid right into the back of a logging truck. It just stuck on to the logging truck and the logging truck pulled him down the road a little ways, then it broke loose from the logging truck and started rolling and that’s when the white SUV hit it. The young woman in the SUV and her 6-month old baby were headed south the same was and when the car broke loose from the logging truck and that’s when she hit him again.”
The driver of the white Ford Focus was extracted from the vehicle where he was transported to Pikeville Medical Center and is reportedly in stable condition. The female driver of the white Jeep Cherokee along with her infant child refused medical treatment. The driver of the logging truck was uninjured.
Kentucky State Police, Coal Run Volunteer Fire Department, Trans-Star Ambulance Service and Pikeville EMS all assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
