Wise County, VA — A Wise County Sheriff’s Deputy has completed the Virginia Forensic Science Academy. Sergeant Stephen N. Jones has successfully met the requirements for graduation. Sergeant Jones makes the fifth Deputy to graduate from the academy for the Wise County Sheriff’s Office. The nine-week course of study provides officers with the necessary background information and practical application techniques which, coupled with the student’s previous experiences, permits maximum utilization of the forensic sciences to their departments and the Criminal Justice System of the Commonwealth.
