Buchanan County, VA — The Buchanan County Board of Supervisors have voted to help Blackjewel LLC coal miners who have been affected by the bankruptcy of the company. The board voted to divvy up $70,000 to help the miners. Aside from the board’s donation, many businesses in Southwest Virginia are also offering their help to the miners. Blackjewel Miners Donation Information…Any coal miner from Buchanan County who was affected by Blackjewel’s bankruptcy is eligible. Sign-ups continue now until Monday, August 12th, at 4:00 PM. Affected miners can go to the County Administrator’s Office at 4447 Slate Creek Road, Grundy, Virginia. Miners will need to bring a copy of their check that didn’t clear and a form of ID.
