With Veterans Day fast approaching, Thacker Memorial Funeral Home in Pikeville has been busy preparing for their annual Veterans Day Remembrance Celebration. Recently, we sat down with funeral home vice president Raleigh Wells to find out more about this special ceremony.

The event is scheduled to take place at Annie E. Young Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 11th.

As a way of showing their appreciation, all veterans in attendance will receive a small gift from the funeral home—a gift certificate for a free meal from the Happy Days Diner.

Wells hopes that everyone who is able will choose to attend the event as Veterans Day is of particular importance to her. For Wells, celebrating those Veterans who are still with us is the very least she feels the funeral home can do as a way of saying thank you for all of the sacrifices they have made for us.
