SHELBIANA, Ky. — Police have arrested a Pike County woman who eluded them for more than two months after allegedly fleeing from them in a stolen car.

Keleigh Kendrick, 28, of Greasy Creek, was arrested at her home on Tuesday, after police went there to serve her with an indictment warrant charging her with auto theft and fleeing police.

Court records accuse Kendrick of stealing a 2022 Kia Soul from Kentucky Avenue on Dec. 15. The car had been rented by a Pikeville woman.

Police attempted to stop her in a gas station parking lot, but she allegedly sped away and lost them on U.S. 460 by driving in the wrong lane and running other vehicles off the road.

But just after 10:30 Tuesday night, police finally caught up to her at her home.

While taking her into custody, officers found a pill bottle containing heroin, so she was also charged with possession.

Kendrick is currently being held in the Pike County Detention Center.
