PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pikeville man is facing a felony theft charge, for allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend’s father during an altercation.

It happened Sunday morning on Peach Orchard Drive, in Pikeville.
The police report says that Joshua Jones, 32, had been fighting with his girlfriend on Saturday, and she went to stay with her father that night. On Sunday, Jones went to the father’s house to talk to the woman. She and her father both reportedly told him to leave, but said he wouldn’t.
The father then went to confront him at his truck, when Jones jumped out and hit the man. The father responded by hitting Jones in the head with an object and the two began fighting. During the fight, Jones allegedly pulled a knife from his pocket and stabbed the man in the face, in the head and twice in the ribs.
Jones was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, as well as tampering with physical evidence for allegedly throwing the knife over the hill after the altercation.

Another man was also arrested at the scene on unrelated charges.
After police impounded Jones’ truck as evidence, they found a nearby resident, Walter Tucker, 65, inside of it. When they told him he couldn’t be in it because it was considered part of the crime scene, he said he was just getting a pack of cigarettes and left.
However, police say a nearly full bottle of Neurontin was discovered missing from the truck, and went they went to Tucker’s home to ask about it, they found the empty bottle in a pile of laundry.
Tucker was arrested and charged with theft and tampering with physical evidence.
