Man arrested for trafficking in Pikeville now facing federal charge

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Madison County man who was arrested for meth and cocaine trafficking after being pulled over for speeding in Pikeville last month has now been indicted in federal court.

George Anthony Walker, 55, of Richmond, was pulled over by Pikeville Police back on March 8, when he was clocked driving 51 miles an hour on Hambley Boulevard, which has a speed limit of 35. Police at that time reported finding a large amount of meth and cocaine in his car and placed him under arrest.

Walker is now charged with possession of more than 50 grams of meth with the intent to distribute. The charge is typically punishable by 5-to-40 years in prison, but because has a previous drug trafficking conviction, he will face an enhanced sentenced of a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison, if he is convicted.

Walker is currently being held in the Pike County Detention Center.
