Williamson Christmas parade held Saturday

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — Action in Mingo hosted it’s annual “Great White Way,” Christmas Extravaganza in downtown Williamson, Saturday. Events started at 8 a.m. that day and wrapped up with a visit from the jolly ol’ elf himself. A pancake breakfast, gingerbread house workshop, pony rides, caroling, storytelling, ornament decorating, holiday baking and more was held throughout the day. The main event, the annual Christmas parade, started at 5 and traveled through the downtown area. After the parade, children were invited to the Cinderella Theater to receive free treat bags and visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. All visitors received free hot chocolate or wassail provided by the Williamson Woman’s Club, samples of chili, and samples from the holiday bake-off. The event was co-sponsored by the City of Williamson.
