HURRICANE CREEK ROAD, KY.– Our area has seen several shooting incidents the past week and that trend continued over the weekend. EKB’s Shawn Allen tells us where.

Last week we told about 2 Floyd County drive-by shooting incidents in the Prater Creek community that happened within a two day period and less than a mile from one another. As the week came to a close Pike County saw a drive-by shooting incident of its own. Officials with Kentucky State Police say there is no evidence linking the shootings.

“About 8:30 Saturday evening we got a call of shots fired possibly into a residence on Hurricane Creek Road here in Pike County. At this time there is no connection with the other shootings in the area. Troopers have been in the area for the past couple of days looking for evidence. They’ve been looking for video, audio or any recordings they can find. I think they have a lead or two on this one.”

Residents inside the home say they are lucky to be alive.

“We were sitting there watching TV and it was real quiet. All of a sudden we started hearing the guns going off and right here is one of the holes where they shot into my living room. There’s the window-sill and here is a big hole that it cut out of my fireplace. The shot went in through here and got lodged right there. The good Lord was definitely watching over us. We can thank Him for watching over us like He was because we both like to have gotten killed.”

If you have any information regarding this incident you are urged to call Kentucky State Police Post 9 at 606-433-7711. Caller can remain anonymous.
