WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — For the second time in three days, Mingo County has set a new high for its daily COVID-19 case count increase.
The Mingo County Health Department is reporting nine new COVID-19 cases in the county. The new cases, confirmed Friday, include:
• 28-year-old symptomatic female
• 68-year-old asymptomatic male
• 10-year-old asymptomatic male
• 59-year-old symptomatic female
• 50-year-old symptomatic female
• 66-year-old symptomatic male
• 45-year-old symptomatic female
• 30-year-old symptomatic male
• 63-year-old symptomatic male
The health department says all of the newly-confirmed COVID-19 patients are isolating at home and contact tracing efforts are underway. The new cases raise Mingo County’s total case count to 47 confirmed positive cases and 2 probable cases.
The health department says 23 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Mingo County, and 15 of the county’s cases are currently active. The county has experienced two deaths related to COVID-19.
