BELFRY, Ky. — A residence in the Belfry community was destroyed Thursday morning. The Belfry Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Varney Road.
It happened around 9 o’clock near Church House Hollow. Officials tell EKB News no one was home when the fire started, but the homeowner’s pets were inside the house. Officials tell us the pets made it out safely.
At this time the fire is still under investigation and the cause is not known. The Turkey Creek and Upper Pond Creek volunteer fire departments assisted at the scene.
The residence was a total loss.
