Pike County, KY — A bridge replacement project on KY 1441 near the intersection with County Road 1371 (Coon Creek Road) is underway. The bridge is near the on-ramp to US 119. Frederick & May Construction of West Liberty got the low-bid contract. The contractor has 80 working days to complete the job. A different alignment for the new bridge means that the current structure can be used by traffic until the new one is finished. This reduces the traffic impacts for the project and means that motorists will have few, if any, delays through the work zone. This project is part of Bridging Kentucky, an initiative to replace or rehab more than 1,000 bridges throughout the state by end of 2024. City and county bridges are included as well as state-owned structures. It is expected that about 42 bridges in the seven counties of Highway District 12 will be addressed through Bridging Kentucky.
