Pikeville, KY — The Click It or Ticket campaign begins today. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office is joining the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and law enforcement agencies nationwide for the annual event. Law Enforcement agencies will be conducting safety check points, looking for impaired drivers, speeding violations and of course seatbelt usage of both adults and child safety seats for children. Of the 725 highway fatalities last year in Kentucky, 52.8 percent were not wearing a seat belt. Agencies will have increased patrols looking for these violations. The Click It or Ticket campaign runs through June 2nd.
