COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Bears upset bid falls short

The University of Pikeville Bears battled defending national champion Georgetown College to the final buzzer, but an upset of the Tigers came up short, 76-74, in the Mid-South Conference Tournament quarterfinals played in Bowling Green on Sunday.

Darius Love led the Bears, who finished the season 12-12, with 24 points. Malcolm Green followed with 12 while Korbin Spencer added 11 and Christian Sweazie net 10.
