COLLEGE FOOTBALL: UK defense ignites Rocky Top rout

Kentucky’s defense picked off two second quarter passes and returned both for scores as the Wildcats steamrolled to a 34-7 victory over No. 18 Tennessee at Neyland Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The win snapped a 17-game Kentucky losing streak to the Volunteers in Knoxville and evened the Wildcats record at 2-2.

Kelvin Joseph returned the first pick 41 yards and Jamin Davis ran back an interception 85 yards for a second as the Wildcats took a 17-7 halftime lead.

Allen Dailey caught a one-yard TD pass from Terry Wilson and Matt Ruffolo booted a 27-yard field goal to push the Wildcats up 24-7 after three quarters. Wilson passed for 101 yards.

Chris Rodriguez added a two-yard touchdown run in the final period to cap the scoring. Rodriguez led the ground game with 73 yards.

The Wildcats travel to Missouri on Oct. 24. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
