Court documents revealed new information Friday about the shooting of a Pike County man, allegedly at the hands of his brother.

43-year-old David Lee Adkins, of McCarr, was arrested yesterday for allegedly shooting and injuring his brother, Kevin Adkins, in McCarr. David Adkins was charged with the same crime in June of last year.

According to court documents, Adkins admitted to police Thursday that he shot his brother using a 9 mm handgun, which he provided to Kentucky State Police.

Kevin Adkins was hospitalized for serious injuries suffered in the incident.

According to court documents, David Adkins pleaded not guilty Friday to a felony charge of first-degree assault. He remains lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on a $30,000 cash bond. David Adkins is due back in court June 21. A motive for the shooting has not yet been released by police.
