Emergency Funds Approved For Slide Repairs In Letcher County

Letcher County, KY — As part of Governor Matt Bevin’s commitment to prioritize transportation infrastructure projects and increase economic opportunity across the Commonwealth, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced $142,900 in Rural Secondary Emergency Funds has been awarded to repair two slides on KY 1103 in Letcher County. Projects submitted to the Department of Rural and Municipal Aid for emergency fund consideration were evaluated by the KYTC district staff to assess the condition of roads and determine the most critical needs based on factors such as safety, economic impact, and traffic volumes. The work will be performed by KYTC District 12 and its contractors. The sites of the work are north of Cornett’s Branch Road and north of Jason’s Road.
