Hurley, VA — Authorities are investigating a fatal structure fire in Hurley, Virginia. Crews were dispatched to Woodcrest Road. The name of the person killed has not been released pending positive identification and notification of next of kin. The Knox Creek Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Big Rock Fire Department, Grundy Fire Department, Rescue 33 Ambulance Service, the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
