COAL RUN VILLAGE, Ky. – A Floyd County man was arrested Tuesday evening by Coal Run Police after two different calls were made, reporting a man who appeared to be under the influence of drugs at Rite Aid drug store. Police Chief Jason Ray says Officer Anthony Maggard responded within minutes and located the subject, who had what is believed to be meth, heroin and Suboxone in his possession, as well as more than $1,500 in cash. 42 year old Gregory Chaffins of Garrett was arrested and charged with first degree possession of a controlled substance for the meth, first degree possession of a controlled substance for the Heroin, a 3rd degree possession charge and Public Intoxication. Chaffins also had an active arrest warrant stemming from an
indictment handed down by the Pike County Grand Jury earlier this month. Those charges go back to July 31st, when Chaffins was arrested by the Pikeville Police Department on various drug charges. When officers ran his information, it was also discovered that Gregory Chaffins is also wanted in the state of Georgia for meth related charges. He remains lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
