Floyd man found guilty of drug, gun charges

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A federal drug case against four Floyd County residents is all but wrapped up, after a jury yesterday found the final member of the conspiracy guilty.

He now waits to learn whether he will spend the rest of his life in prison.

After a three-day trial, Jeffrey Isaac, 60, of Melvin, was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug crime.

He had stood accused of working with three others to illegally sell prescription pills in June and July of 2016. Nearly 4,000 pills were seized in the investigation, including oxycodone, hydrocodone, morphine, suboxone and xanax.

Isaac will be sentenced May 24 and faces and a sentence of up to life in prison.

The three other defendants previously reached plea deals in the case. They include Karen Elizabeth Isaac, 45; Alyssa K. Isaac, 22; and Scott Dwayne Tackett, 40, all of Melvin. They will be sentenced Feb. 12.

Each faces a maximum potential prison sentence of 20 years, except for Tackett, who could be jailed for up to 30 years, due to a previous drug conviction.
