BETSY LAYNE – Former Allen Central head coach Brad Short will return to the hardwood this winter after being named the new Betsy Layne coach.

Short spent 10 years coaching on the middle school level, starting in 2001 prior to taking over the Rebels, spending the next six years there.

The veteran coach said he was excited about having the opportunity to coach again on the high school level.

He said he hopes to continue the great tradition of leading the Bobcat program.

Allen Central consolidated with South Floyd into the new Floyd Central High School.
