JENKINS, Ky. — Two Pike County residents and two Letcher County residents are now facing drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop in Jenkins.
The stop occurred on the evening of March 1st. According to court documents, Jenkins Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to signal a turn. According to court documents, 21-year-old Emily Caudill, of Elkhorn City; 37-year-old Barry Kinney II, of Ashcamp; and 42-year-old Heather Moore, and 40-year-old Brian Broome, both of Jenkins, were arrested after police discovered more than 10 grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle.
Police also found scales and a large amount of cash, court documents said.
All four were charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and first-degree possession of a controlled substance. Caudill and Kinney were charged with additional counts of first-degree promoting contraband for allegedly attempting to sneak drugs into the Letcher County Jail.
All four remain lodged in the jail after pleading not guilty Monday in Letcher District Court.
