HS SOCCER ROUNDUP: Prestonsburg blanks Hazard; Johnson Central teams sweep

Prestonsburg’s Dylan Moore had four goals and two assists to help lead the Blackcats to a 9-0 win over Hazard in a match played at the StoneCrest Soccer Complex on Thursday night.

Grant Justice added two goals while Matt Burchett scored one and assisted on five others as Prestonsburg improved to 11-1.

Preston Crase had one goal and one assist while Ben Burchett scored one goal. Bryan Amador added an assist.

Goalkeepers Jacob Martin and Bryce Ousley combined for the shutout win.

Lawrence County’s Luke Johnson knocked home seven goals and assisted on one other to power the Bulldogs to an 11-1 win over Pikeville in a match played at Bob Amos Soccer Complex on Thursday night.

Blake Maynard added three goals and five assists as the Bulldogs improved to 6-4. Peyton Brown added one goal.

Will Dillow and Zach Holt finished with one assist each while goalkeeper Trent Adkins had five saves while allowing just a single goal.

Pikeville dropped to 0-6.

Johnson Central’s Nathaniel Narendrakumar scored three unassisted goals as the Golden Eagles doubled up Belfry, 4-2, in a match played at Eagle Field on Thursday night.

Braydon Staniford added one goal as the Golden Eagles moved to 6-3-1.

Goalkeeper Tate Cox had nine saves as Belfry took 17 shots on goal.

Tyler Slone scored both goals for the Pirates, now 3-5-2.

Goalkeeper Makaden Maynard totaled 12 saves as the Golden Eagles managed to get off 23 shots.

Johnson Central standout Konstance McCarty scored four goals as the Lady Eagles built a three-goal, halftime lead against Belfry and went on to score a 5-0 victory in a match played at Eagle Field on Thursday night.

Haley Lykins added an unassisted goal as the Lady Eagles improved to 8-0-1.

Belfry goalkeeper Jazzy Cline stopped 20 shots on goal as Johnson Central managed 32. The Lady Pirates fell to 5-8.

Martin County’s Sophia McCoy had a big night with six goals and two assists in leading the Lady Cardinals to a 10-0 win over Shelby Valley in a match played at Teco Field on Thursday night.

Caitlyn Horn followed with two goals and four assists as Martin County improved to 7-3. Lena Hale had one goal and three assists and Lila Spaulding added one goal.

Goalkeeper Marlie Fletcher recorded the shutout win as the Lady Cats dropped to 1-8.
