PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Pikeville Medical Center proudly announces that Kansas Justice, MBA, FACHE, CPHQ, MT(ASCP), Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, has earned the prestigious Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives credential, marking a significant professional milestone in her healthcare leadership journey.

With this achievement, Justice joins a distinguished group of healthcare executives nationwide who hold board certification in healthcare management through the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the leading professional society for healthcare leaders in the United States. As of January 1, 2025, only 8,697 healthcare executives nationwide have earned this credential.
“Achieving Fellow status from ACHE reflects Kansas’s deep commitment to excellence in healthcare leadership,” said PMC’s President and CEO, Donovan Blackburn. “Her dedication to professional growth and delivering the highest standards of care to our patients reflects the values we uphold at Pikeville Medical Center.”
Fellow status in ACHE is regarded as the gold standard in healthcare management. To achieve this distinction, candidates must meet rigorous criteria, including academic and professional experience, community and professional involvement, continuing education, and the successful completion of a comprehensive board examination. Fellows are also required to recertify every three years, ensuring they maintain their commitment to ongoing professional development.
The healthcare management field plays a vital role in providing high-quality care to people in our communities, making promoting a standard of excellence by a professional organization critically important,” says Deborah J. Bowen, FACHE, CAE, president and CEO of ACHE. “By becoming an ACHE Fellow and earning the distinction of board certification from ACHE, healthcare leaders demonstrate a commitment to excellence in serving their patients and the community.
Kansas has been in healthcare management for several years, with experience in Laboratory Services, Patient Safety, and Professional Support Services, before taking on the Chief Operating Officer role at PMC in 2018. She has introduced several new programs and initiatives at PMC that have improved patient care and increased efficiency.
Pikeville Medical Center congratulates Kansas Justice on this remarkable accomplishment and thanks her for her continued dedication to advancing healthcare leadership in Eastern Kentucky and beyond.
