Kentucky’s 2018 Annual Unemployment Report Released

Frankfort, KY — Kentucky’s annual unemployment rate dropped to 4.3 percent in 2018 from 4.9 percent in 2017. That’s according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics, an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet’s annual report issued Monday. It reflected to the lowest annual jobless rate for the state since 2000 when the rate was 4.2 percent. The number of unemployed Kentuckians for 2018 was 89,310, down 11,415 from the 100,725 unemployed in 2017. In 2018, the estimated number of Kentuckians in the civilian labor force was 2,061,622. This is up from the 2,053,757 recorded in 2017. The National annual unemployment rate dropped to 3.9 percent from 4.4 percent in 2017.
