There was multiple car thefts occur recently in and around the Pikeville area. Pikeville Chief of Police, Chris Edmonds says that one vehicle made it all the way to Pennsylvania before being recovered. Edmonds says that another happened at Carquest where a guy found a car with the keys still in it and belonged to an employee from Carquest, but another Carquest employee followed the thief until the arrest was made. Edmonds also says the best way to prevent car thefts is to always keep your keys on you at all times and to keep valuable items out of sight. He encourages people to contact your local police offices if you notice any suspicious behavior.
