Pike County, KY — Charges have now been filed in a fatal shooting that occurred last week in Hurley, Virginia. Buchanan County Sheriff Ray Foster says 27-year-old Jeremiah Russell May has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of 34-year-old Matthew Shon Hurley during an argument and then shooting himself. Hurley was pronounced dead at the scene. May survived his injuries and has been released from the Pikeville Medical Center. May is in custody at the Pike County Detention center awaiting an extradition hearing.
