Man wanted in Johnson County, for drugs; found in Floyd County with drugs

Floyd County, Ky.–It happened on Big Branch of Bull Creek Road as police responded to a call of a man in the middle of the road trying to get into cars on KY 302.

Officers confronted the suspect who said he was 26-year old Robert Clark. He was later discovered to actually be 40-year old Daniel Clark of Stambaugh.

While being placed under arrest Clark a bag was found in his bag pocket that contained marijuana, an orange pill, a white powdery substance, a pipe and a spoon.

Clark told officers white powdery substance was given to him by the hospital to treat his prostate. A field test kit identified the substance as cocaine.

He was charged with possession of marijuana, two-counts of possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and giving an officer a false name.

Clark was also found to have an indictment warrant in Johnson County for manufacturing methamphetamine and being a persistent felony offender in the 1st degree.

While at the Floyd County Detention Center he became irate and combative. The Prestonsburg Police Department was called back in to assist. As a result, Clark was additionally charged with 3rd degree assault on a police officer.
