When most people in the United States think of an earthquake happening, they imagine it occurring on the west coast.  But, many experts predict the next major earthquake in the United States will be centered near western Kentucky.  That being said, Thursday morning at 10:19, millions of Americans will participate in the Great American ShakeOut by holding earthquake drills in classrooms, offices and in their homes.  In Kentucky, nearly 300,000 people who registered online will participate.  Many of those participating in our region learned firsthand in 2012 that you can never say never when it comes to a natural disaster.  For more information on tomorrow’s earthquake drill, you can go to shakeout.org.
