One man is in jail and another on the run after a Police chase

Johnson County, Ky.–The search continues for a Wittensville man who allegedly led police on a chase in two counties yesterday, while a passenger in his vehicle sits in jail. Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy, Byron Fairchild, pulled over a black Chevy S-10 on U.S. 460.

The officer recognized the driver as 25-year-old Shawn Easley from previous run-ins. As the trooper stepped out of his vehicle, Easley allegedly took off in his truck. The officer pursued Easley through Johnson County and into Lawrence County. The truck then struck a guard rail and came to a stop in the ditch, at which time Easley allegedly jumped out of the window and ran up a hill. A warrant has now been obtained for his arrest.

Meanwhile, a passenger in the truck — 41-year-old Kenneth Wells, of Van Lear — was arrested and charged with public intoxication, wanton endangerment, fleeing police and possession of drug paraphernalia.
