WEEKSBURY, Ky. — One man is dead following a shooting this morning in Floyd County.

It happened at a residence along Route 466, at Weeksbury, around 8 a.m. Kentucky State Police tell EKB News it occurred during an attempted break-in.

South Floyd Elementary was placed on lockdown for about 30 minutes as a precautionary measure. School officials say students were never in any danger.
