Pikeville man arrested after calling in bomb threat to Big Lots

A Pikeville man was arrested Friday morning after police say he called in a bomb threat to Big Lots in Coal Run.  Coal Run Assistant Police Chief Anthony Maggard says his department, along with Coal Run Police Department and Pike County Emergency Management responded just before 11am.  No explosive device was located, and the store was cleared of any danger.  Pikeville Police officers were able to assist in the investigation, and located 46 year old Herbert Courtney, who was believed to be responsible.  Courtney was arrested and charged with 2 counts of terroristic threatening and one count of resisting arrest.  He was lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
