PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pikeville man was arrested overnight after allegedly stealing alcohol and fleeing from police.
The Pikeville 9-1-1 Center received a call around 2 o’clock Thursday morning from Walmart in Pikeville, reporting a man for stealing a case of beer.
Police later found the suspect — identified as 22-year-old Jordan Ramsey, of Pikeville — riding in a car on Chloe Road with four other people. He reportedly admitted stealing the beer and was taken into custody.

“The male subject that had been doing the shoplifting, escaped one of the vehicles and fled on foot,” said Officer Tony Conn with the Pikeville Police Department. “He was captured just a short distance away. They had to deploy a taser and bring him under control.”
Ramsey is charged with alcohol intoxication, shoplifting, fleeing or evading police and other charges. The other four in the vehicle were also arrested on alcohol charges.
