PIKEVILLE, KY — The Pikeville Police Department responded to a complaint of child neglect on Cypress Lane. According to the arrest citation, the complainant stated that while visiting the residence, small children were locked inside of rooms with no supervision and covered in feces.
Pikeville Police states that upon arrival, they knocked several times on the door with no answer, but saw children inside a bedroom window looking out with no adult in-sight. As they entered the residence, they opened one door where a small boy around the age of 2 came out with no clothing on at all with feces on him. The room the boy was occupying was very unkept and had feces all on the walls and floor.
Another room contained two small girls around 1 and 4 years old. They were locked inside where various medication bottles, sharp objects, lighters, and feces were found. Both rooms were unsupervised.
Police located an adult William Daniels, 28 inside a separate bedroom who stated that he had various mental illnesses and was left with the children locked in their rooms while the parents were away.
The children were transported to Pikeville Medical Center for evaluation. The mother of the children, Cassidy Finley, 22 was located at McDonald’s on Cassidy Blvd. and placed under arrest alongside William Daniels and charged with Wanton Endangerment and Criminal Abuse of a child 12 or under.
