More rain than usual fell during the last half of December, which brought the display of Christmas lights at Archer Park in Prestonsburg to an end before Christmas. But, a massive cleanup effort got the majority of the lights back up and running the day after Christmas, only for thieves to strike Saturday night.
Officials with the city of Prestonsburg say between 9 and 10 pm, about $1500 worth of extension cords were stolen from the carnival, and now a $500 dollar reward has been offered to anyone who can provide information that leads to the return of the equipment.
Anyone with information on the theft is urged to contact the Prestonsburg Police Department.
