Police say burglary may have been behind car driving into store

GARRETT, Ky. — Police are investigating after a vehicle drove into a Floyd County convenience store early this morning, saying they are exploring the possibility that it was actually a break-in attempt.

Kentucky State Police was notified that a vehicle had struck the Redi Mart at Garrett. The driver and vehicle were gone by the time troopers arrived.

While the incident may have been a simple accident, police are also considering the possibility that the driver was attempting to gain entry into the building to steal an ATM. At this time, police say it is not evident that anything was taken in the incident.

Kentucky State Police is continuing to investigate.
